Here’s a website for the people who need to install Linux software on an offline computer: KeryX. According to the authors of this project:

Keryx is a portable, cross-platform package manager for APT-based (Ubuntu, Debian) systems. It provides a graphical interface for gathering updates, packages, and dependencies for offline computers. Keryx is free and open source.

Adding source-code to a wordpress blog

WordPress not has a functionality to add source code to a blog. Here’s how its done:

To accomplish the above, just wrap your code in these tags:

You will have to replace “{” with “[” and just place the source between these tags

Add all Launchpad.net PPAs to your Ubuntu

Now its possible to add launchpad PPAs to synaptic manager and then install then easily. Just download the ppa-pkg file and it will enable all the PPAs in synaptic manager from here. Just follow the click-and-install process and then reload the synaptic package manager and voila! you can now search through all the PPAs present on launchpad. Ubuntu Karmic is out!!!

Hello world:

So karmic is finally out but there are something I thought were necessary to bring up. If you are using a broadcom driver then first do a sudo apt-get update and then go to Hardware Drivers and check it will show up. Thanks to crashsystems for this tip. Also be careful if you did automatic partition then hibernation won’t work, it is going to be fixed soon after the release.

GNOME needs more love

GNOME is a free project that makes the desktop work for all the Linux distros. that have a desktop. But since its based on volunteers, it needs more love. This project is helping out One Laptop Per Child Program thus helping out those who don’t know a thing about technology. So please help out GNOME becomming a friend of GNOME thus making some donations to this project or start to develop with the GNOME software.
